Andy YorkeOne of the most underrated songwriters to have ever come from the UK, Andy Yorke first came to prominence with his band Unbelievable Truth, where he was lead singer and co-writer.
released two studio albums, Almost Here in 1998 and Sorrythankyou in 2000. Both showed the talent and immense songwriting skills that Andy possesses.
Leaving the band in 2000, Andy decided to take a complete break from the music scene, but after five years he realised that he still loved music intensely and found himself with a collection of songs he had begun writing despite himself. So he decided to get in touch with some of his old friends from his Unbelievable Truth days (and one or two others), and put together a brand new solo album “Simple”, a collection of beautifully crafted songs and ballads, accompanied by his acoustic guitar.
With “Simple,” Andy Yorke should receive the critical acclaim he so rightly deserves.
Andy plays a Takamine TNV460SC which he will be using on his forthcoming tour, planned to coincide with the release of the album.
A single, named “Rise and Fall” is available now to download from iTunes, Napster and other outlets.
