With the introduction of the Takamine Nashville Series, our expert luthiers were able to exhibit their skills across a range of fabulous instruments inspired by America’s most famous music city. Right from the selection of highly-figured, seasoned solid tone woods through to the meticulously inlaid abalone shell on the rosewood models, the Nashvilles live up to their heritage.
The tops are of hand-selected, ‘bear claw’ spruce, a beautiful, naturally occurring rippling pattern in the grain creating an eye-catching shimmering effect. It is widely acknowledged amongst luthiers that the sought-after bear claw figuring signifies that the wood is more mature and of a superior quality. Having passed a visual inspection, craftsmen will tap each piece of wood in turn to assess its resonance and acoustic response before making the final selection.
The Nashvilles come with either solid bookmatched Indian rosewood or mahogany back and sides. Each has its own distinctive tonal signature, so take time out to play and listen to both versions. Ebony is used for the fingerboards which are topped with nickel silver frets. These are levelled and finished by hand for perfect playability and intonation.
Despite their obvious heritage, these top-end instruments are far more than different takes on a classic style. The Nashvilles come complete with the revolutionary CoolTube preamp, bringing harmonic depth and richness to your amplified tone that you won’t get from any other electro-acoustic guitar*. So if you’re looking for a rich, powerful and open acoustic tone with visual presence to match, then you need look no further than the Takamine Nashvilles.
We also produce a pure acoustic version of the Nashvilles too, these models begin with the prefix 'NV'.
